Set in a Welsh village during the First World War, THE ENGLISHMAN WHO WENT UP A HILL, BUT CAME DOWN A MOUNTAIN is based on a true story, handed down

I believe the film is based on a local legend. Historians haven't found any truth to the story but that didn't take away my enjoyment of the film.
During the days of World War I, a small Welsh town relies on its local mountain as a source of pride. When two English cartographers, Reginald Anson (Hugh Grant) and George Garrad (Ian McNeice), arrive to measure the mountain, they discover the landmark is 16 feet short of achieving the official mountain classification. Disheartened that their mountain has been deemed a hill, the townsfolk devise a plan to make up those 16 feet. Meanwhile, Anson falls for a local woman (Tara Fitzgerald).

... film I've been trying to find out where this mountain was. Apparently it's based on a true story but I've never been able to find the real mountain Fynnon Garw.

Ever since I saw the film I've been trying to find out where this mountain was. Apparently it's based on a true story but I've never been able to find the real mountain Fynnon Garw. Does anyone know where it is? The narrator says at the end "as you drive north from Cardiff look for the first big hill" but obviously it isn't major enough to be on any standard maps that I've seen.
Can anybody help?
